Pulau Weh
Location
Pulau Weh is a small active volcanic island located off the north west of Aceh
province of the Indonesian Sumatra. Wide parts o
f the island and sea around the
island are declared as a wildlife protection area.
Pulau Weh is the most north-east location of Indonesia and is placed within the Indian Ocean.

What can I see
great reefs, walls and wrecks
healthy corals, moray eels, lionfish, scorpion fish, reefsharks, manta ray,
schools of trevally and barracudas.
Challenges for diving
Suitable for all levels of diver up to strong drift dives for experienced divers
Special
Province Ace was one of the most effected area by the tsunami in December 2004.
About 25.000 people lost their life caused by this seaquake.
How to go there
By flight via Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) you enter Indonesia in Aceh, which is a city
in the northernmost part of Sumatra. From Aceh you reach Weh Island within 2hrs by
the ferry boat.
