What is MANTART? mantArt is the expert in underwater photo- and video-graphy. During many years of diving in South East Asia, Underwater Photography started to be as my passion. At the beginning I simply wanted to document my trips and impression of an amazing and wonderful underwater world with its great and colourful variety of corals and creatures. Taking simply shots of the underwater world was not enough, I always tried to achieve improvements of the quality of my taken pictures and needed skills – and it is an ongoing demand to myself ‘never ever stop to make a step forward’. With this given experience, taken pictures from the underwater world became now the Art of Underwater Photography Now the time is ready to share my knowledge and experience with other divers who want to start taking pictures under water or want to improve their skill in UW photography. With this internet presentation I want to share information about my diving trips to South East Asia and sharing pictures from an still amazing underwater world. Underwater Photo and Video Workshop – Bali / Tulamben
From Sat, 11 till Fri, 17 October 2014 I participated a great Underwater Photo & Video Workshop in Bali / Tulamben – Indonesia. This workshop has been organized and executed by Reef Photo. Diving from ‘Tauch Terminal‘ Diving Resort we had an easy and direct access to the dive sites of the house reef, drop off and the famous Liberty Wreck. Seraya, a nearby located muck diving dive site offered to get in touch with amazing tiny creatures I / most of us never have seen before. Techniques in different field of photo- and video- graphy like e.g. wide-angle, macro and super macro photography have been discussed and worked out during the workshop. Instructions and useful hints have been given on individual basis for improving the skills of each participants, resulting in great photo and video shots of everybody during this time. Skill improvements happened not only in gaining from the instruction imparted by the workshop leaders, but also by an other important factor which is driven by the so called group dynamic. Lembeh – Macro Diving and Macro Photography
Lembeh is the most famous place and best dive destination for macro stuff. Nothing for people who want to see the ‘Big Thing’ and great coral reefs. Go there if you simply want to see a concentration of small stuff. You can find all that strange creatures on one place. An amazing place for Macro Photographer. The Muck Diving place with its dark volcanic sandy bottom is home of amazing animals like clownfish, crinoid shrimps, misc critters, nudi branches, small frogfish, pipefish, seahorses, nudibranchs, harlequin shrimp, mimic octopus, ….. Lembeh is located in Indonesia on Sulawesi. You can reach this place via flight to Manado.
